Dog fighting is a completly horrible event that happens very commonly. People train their dogs to be visious, and seriously injure or kill eachother. The two trained dogs will be put in a put into a pit ready to fight. The insane thing is fights can last up to an hour, comonly to last more then two hours! Those poor dogs must be so beatin up. It really does make me feel horrible to know that this is happening. I love animals, and dogs are supposed to be a mans best friend. It’s so sad that they wait for one of the dogs to call the fight off. They have nobody to help them, and cant speak up for themselves. Would you want to die by lossing to much blood, shock, dehydration, exhustion? Well this is how they die. I actually know someones who husband went to jail for dog fighting. Its a huge deal, and he got time for that. Often the dogs are fed samller animals, like cats, rabbits, or even small dogs. They have to steal them most of the time. I find it disgusting to do this. To them it’s just a way to make their animal trained, and wanting blood. It’s actually a scary thing. Dog fights seem to get even worse. Illegal gambeling happens there, and weapons are usually there because of the large amount of money. Sometimes children are present! Drugs are sold and used there too. Dogfighting is illegal in 50 stated, and a felony offense is in almost every state. It’s so unbelievably crule to animals that it should give a extremly horrible punishment. The “training” of the dogs just isn’t right. First of all they make them run of treadmills. They make them persue their “bait” in a chasing game. Sometimes the animslas are tied up while the dog just tears them apart. They put chains on the dogs necks to strengthen their upper body. Weights are also sometimes on the chains to help build the strength. They also give their dogs drugs, vitamins, and supplements to controle their dog fully. Hear this, professional fighters have very specific rules to their matches. Other then pits they are sometimes in rural areas, or in barns. Street fights , on the other hand, are not as organized . In the professional matches they are scedualed months ahead. They are careful and think of the location of where they will have it. They have to weigh the dogs before matches, andn actually wash them so their is no poison on them. Are they seriosly that crazy they they would put poison on their dog? Thats insane to do. They have rules to how the dogs fights, and they listen on comand. Dogfighting is all around the world, in all different cultures. Why is this so? What makes people think that this is right? They just start when the poor things is in it’s earliest stage, and makes it into somthing it shouldnt be. Baiting animals has atually occured bfore in Rome during the reign of the Roman Empire. It’s known as a blood sport.
Pompeii
The tradgedy Pompiee was neary about 1,7000 years ago in the A.D times. In 1748 did we discover the city burried and perservd in more then 30 feet of volcanic ash. It’s known as one of the best archaeological sites, which I have seen. I saw a pereseved person on the toilet, and some holding dear to each other. Each one was different and had character to it. It was because of the devestating errution of Moutn Vesuvius. The had signs of the upcoming explotion of the valcanoe. One day in Feburary A.D they had a severe earthquake, and more not as damagable ones in August. In spring are was direing up. They didn’t think of these as signs , so they were surprised when it errupted on Agust 24. The volvanic matter begain to fall on Pompeii and other sites like Herculaneum, Stabiae. It’s told that the sky went pit black, and the sun was covered. Ash, pumice, and rock fell, initially with a low density. All these events that are happening take part in having to do with the city being perserved. Nobody knew what exactly to do, since they have never experienced this bedfore. The valcanoe soon starts to plunge out magmam, valcanic mud, and noxious gas, and ash everywhere,and as pyroclastic surges. It must have been a horrible site. Herculaneum was hit was valcanic mud, this site was at the base of the valcnoe.
Thousands of people died during the valcanoe erruption, some people were killled in landscape as they were running for their lives. It’s crazy how everyone and everything was destroyed, and unblievable in some way was persevred for us to discover. It id definitly a very sad tradgedy, all those people. They stayed perserved over 1,700 years it stayed burried for us to bring to life again. It’s known as the Forgotten City. When i got to walk the peblly streets of Pompeii when i went to Italy it was amazing! I had never been around anything like that before. It felt so ancient, and mysterious. You were able to look at items that were perserved, and people. Some were a bit funny, as others very sad. The place seem to be huged to me, i got to see how they got water, and could picture how they lived. History frozen in time. Mount vesuvius has erupted about 50 more times since then! Over time it has been a very active valcanoe since the disturction of pompeii and the other cities. Pompeii was about 5 miles away. The winds from Mount Vesuvius blowing dark scary winds at a hundred miles per hour. That would be frightening and would make me panic. Thats what all those poor people had to see before they died. It’s tradgic, human against nature.
The people lived a lot like we do. From what the professionals say is that from studying pompeii they have dug up objects that we use today. They had furniture, stoves, jewelry, lamps, dishes and other objects. We were able to figure out what ment most to people by looking at what seems to be what the grabbed when they fled. It shows what they valued, and most of the time some people were holding on to jewelry or money. Food was preserved sitting on the table, so we have been able to learn what they ate, and we have got ahold of recipes from cookbooks. For centuries Pompeii was under Romans control. Social war in 90 B.C began, and they joined forces in hope to be free. The rebels and Rome fought for two years! Sulla, the romans best and most brilliant generals. He eventually defeted then and took Pompeii and Herculaneum.

I like the things I wrote about I would like to create my profile more into world issues, make a difference. I suppose every now and then having something simple and fun would be nice. I worked really hard on trying to orginized my things, but i still do need to figure it all out. I am a bit irritated and how some things on my page aren’t catigorized in the right order, or labled right. My blogs had been posted in places i wasn;t trying to post them, which is frustrating to me, and would like to work on. That was the main issue for me, and i will work on it.
I like the topics i chose to write, and how i wrote them, Giving my Opinion was a change, and was nice to write about, Made me feel freedom in my writting, which is something i like to do. I like the way i had. To take it to the next level all i need to work on is cleaning up my profile, and making it my personalized. I want to make it more “Bethany” and stylish. I need to figure something out with that, and continue on working on my topics, and writting about things that maybe one day somebody would look at and think differently. Thats what I am trying to accomplish, is change.

postmodernism
This is postmodernism because it’s not realistic and is strange. It has things you reconize, like the little tree in the left lower corner, and the people and animals. Everything is just twisted and imaginative. The colors are crazy, and it’s eye catching. You can tell what half of the painting is about but the other half seems weird and a bit confusing. The unrealistic parts do draw you in and make you think more. You feel as if all the things in the picture are there for a reason, to tell some story. There are eyes everywhere in the background, very bold. The women is just standing by herself, i think she seems happy. The not normal things make a story in a painting more interesting.
In the novel, The Things They Carried, postmodernism does take a role. He tells stories through out the book, and you find out that they are unreal. All the details and parts of his story seem not normal, and are only half true. There has been a twist when you find out that it’s not all true and some imagination has been added in, but also truth. Some unknowing truth is uncovered. There is stories that are so insane, and heart beating you feel the realness, but it’s not a normal story. In this book you will find more then one kind of postmodernism, and the ideas or truth.

This picture is an completely not normal shape for a building, it is postmodernism. The shape is s strange way for a building, and you never see buildings like that. In the middle it has windows that are very unique and also beautiful. When I look at it i wonder why this did it this way, it’s so crazy and not what they normally do. It’s made differently then any regular building, and seems even a little into the future to me, which seems very weird, and a weird think to think about.
Animal Cruelty
There is some things in the world that i absolutly think is disgusting, and one of those things is animal cruelty. I have ver strong feelings about this world issue. It’s incredibly sad, and hard to imagine. They can be killed for food, or use, or just harmed and beaten to death. I found on some information that caught my eye, I have never heard of this. “There is an intrinsic link between battered pets and battered women and children. The likelihood that women’s shelter personnel will encounter women and children who have been threatened by batterers using animal abuse as a weapon is high. This is because more families in America have pets than have children.” It makes sense to me. Animals can’t speak up, but I’m sure they would be screaming for help. For centuries dogs have been engages in dog fighting. People bread their animals to become viscous and mean. They are trained how to keep on attacking, not matter how badly they are hurt. There is also puppy mills. They are sold to pet stores, and normal come with a disease. They are treated very badly, they don’t get any toys to experience as a puppy, or or any exercise or human love. They get very little food and water and no grooming. They are kept in small cages, injuring their paws and legs, and sometimes the cages they are in are stacked up. It’s horrible, and it should come to an end. They are so helpless, and need to be saved.
invisible children
This isn’t supposed to be some big essay, just a reminder. Whenever I get a chance to say something about it I take it, and i guess this is a good opportunity. Well ever since I herd about the invisible children, about two years ago, it kind of stuck to me. It’s something so incredibly heart crushing, and difficult to accept. The rebel army made children into weapons. Their home land is vicious and brutal. The Lords Resistance, the rebel army, would aduct kids, and make them into cold blooded soilders. They are able to brain wash them since they are at such a young and fragile age. Its hard to think that anything like that could happen, and I just feel like it should be feared. It scares me, my stomach gets in nots just thinking about how gory it was for those people and the children. I just want to remind people about these things, they are important.

Meical Marijuana has been around for ages, dates back to about 5,000 years ago, and it’s medical properties were put to use. It should be legalized because it has so many good purposes to it. For one thing it’s safer then drinking alchohol, and thats legal! ALchohol harms your body, and you are put in harmful situations. People die from alchohol poisoning, and the scary thing is it’s common. Have you heard of anybody dieing from Marijuana, no. You hear of people drinking and driving, and killing people or harming others or themselves. You don’t ever hear of people smoking weed and causing the same thing. Get this, Marijuana even protects against brain damage associated with alcoholism. Alchohol is so much more eaier to contain, and it’s dangerous, unlike marijuana. It doesn’t even require a card. Marijuana also helps people in little or chronica pain. People under stress can relax, help people sleep at night, eat, people with HIV, AIDS, nausea, ext. I think the government shouldn’t be able to tell peopel what the can’t or can do with their lives. If someone choses to smoke marijunana that is their choice. I think It’s ridiculous how much trouble “pot smokers” can get into. Why don’t people go worry about rapiest, or murders. I think that it’s something that people are going to do if htey want to, and it’s turned into such a big deal. If marijuanan becomes legal doesnt mean that every single perosn on earth is going to start smoking. People who smoke are people who choose too, and people aren;t going to start because it;s illegal. People who don’t want to dont, being legal or not doesnt make any difference. It frustrates me that the governent is trying to tell the people what they can’t do. We have our rights to live our life the way we want to, and if we do choose medical marijuana then it shouldn’t be a problem. I do think there should be some laws regarding legalizing marijunana. People should not be able to walk around smoking or being obviously in public, it is rude towards people who don’t want to be around that kind of enviorment. I do believe that cops shoulnd bust anybody for smoking outside if it isnt in their home, only if they are some place were they aren’t seen, or are smoking out in the open not caring about others. I know it’s a difficult depbate, but the thing is people are going to use it, if they have a prupose or not. It’s what people choose, and I think it’s time for it to be legalized. The people have spoken and the majority wants it to be legal.

Had a rough night the other night. It started when i could hear him whisper to me, its right int my ear. When this first started happening to me, i was about 10. My family thought i was kidding. After a while they all just looked at me as if i was crazy. i was around 19 when i began to research on exorsims, i knew it was what i had. i became extremley knowledgable.Nobody ever believed me. Well long story short, they ended sending me away to this place . I will never forget it, i will not let them convince me that im crazy. Anyway, today Mac confronted the nurse about turning down the obnoxious music we have to listen to everyday, but she gave a smart little anwser and said the chronics need it. Mac has also been trying to le us watch the world series, I can’t even remember the last time i watched it. Mc tried to do a vote of woho wanted to watch it to the nurse, but we were all to scared. He got furious that we didnt vote with him after the meeting, and asked us whats wrong with us. He was wanting to leave, and fast. He walks fast towards the control pannel, and tries to pick it up. His vains were showing, and he got all red in the face. He was trying to hard, but he couldn’t do it. I was hoping he could do it.

I woke up pretty happy today. The sky looked nice outside, how i wish i could go run freely. Well we had a therapeutic community. I was really not wanting to be the one to tlk, i like to keep to myself. This kid Billy decided to talk. He tends to studder alot, and was explaining that he has done that since he was little. I dont think that is being crazy, i think he just has problems talking, no big deal. Nothing really happend today, but Mac did speak up about the World Series again. We ended up having another vote. A lot of people voted, including myself. Yet we didnt win, becuase the nurse counted the chronics, the guys that are just so gone there is no hope. It was bull. I was pretty dissapointed untill Mac and the others started pretending that it was playing on the t.v. Everyody waas so happy, and excited. I actually got into it to.

I could feel it crawling inside me today. Sometimes i can actually see it, the demon inside me. Before i got here i was learning so much about my demon. I had been seeing specialist. Tey can figure out what ind of demon it is, and how strong and danergous it is. I learned that mine was a not so good one. I sometimes get into these dreams, and its so real. I’m in some kind of tribal plce, seems long ago. I think it’s has something to do with the demon, and how to get ride of it. I never got to adventure into it, so im here with him forever. Anyways, I think Mc is being sent away to the ward, well im actually pretty sure of it. I over heard a conversation about it today.

It was insane today. Mac during the meeting was being abit of a smart ass to the nurse then other poeple started to get involved and louds, like Cheswik. He was demanding his cigarettes. He was not wanting to be treated like a little boy. I was actually inspired by him, He was never like this before, none of us was. The black boys soon came to remove him, and was sent to disturbed. As we were all in the pool, Cheswik came back. He looked completley lost. I felt for him.He got his finger stuck in the grate at the bottom of the pool.cThe black boys tried to get him out, but he had already drowned. I saw the rela thing, he killed himself. The look on his face, he was just so done, i could tell. He drowned himsef.

We had a visitor today when we were in the library, Harding’s wife. She was very pretty. Well, the library was fun. I alwasy love to go, but htye don;t have variaty of books really. They block us off from the real world. I would love to have access to some informaion about extorisicms. Martini seemed to like reading, because he ended up acting out his. The next day we had ot go up and get X-rays for Tuberculosis. There was a room next to it, and i saw Mac notice It. It was the EST or electro shock therapy room. Harding was telling him how horrible it was.

I made a hoop today! We played basketball, and it was actually a lot of fun. Mac had thought of it, and made teams. It was funny, because nobody could really play. We all had been in here for so long, and kinf od have forgotten what fun is. We played the aids, and lets jus say we arent as good as they are. The ball, for the secound time, went threw the window. I know the nurse was mad, but it made me laugh. The most important thing about today was the chief can talk. I almost gasped, but held my mouth. He was talking to Mac, and he was so amazed, just like I was. For the rest of the night i just kept on thinking about what they are up to.

I had been burrying my head into this Mac, and Chief thing. If they are trying to get out I want to join them. It’s time i escape and deal with the demon possessing me. It’s been getting worse latley, and i need to put all the pieces together. Today we get to go fishing. I didn’t really get ti enjoy it. My mind was off in it;s own world. I couldt consentrate on anything. Well Mac ended up bringing a prostitute from Portland. we had stopped at a gas station, and I’m not really sure what was happening, since I have been out of it for a while. I remember all of us walking over to the dock, and I started feeling weird. A lot of thing were a blurr, but we went on a boat. The waves had me in some kind of spell. I noticed Mac wasn’t there and the guys told me he was in the cabin. I didn’t really fish, kind of spaced. I heard people yelling, and I looked up to the Doc holding up this gigantic fish. We went back , and i fell asleep. I was woken up but Mac, and he had alchohol and the girl. I actually enjoyed myself. Billy ended up setting a date up with the prostitute in to weeks.

We had a meeting at the ward today. I didn’t see McMurphy, I assume he is in trouble. We talked about Mac at the meeting, and how he was taking money from all of us on the wards. It’s just because we gamble a lot, and make bets so i didnt mind. She was just trying to make us turn on him. Anways, today Mac placed a bet that nobody could pick up the control pannel, and the Chief could, so Mac won money from us and offered Chief some but he didn’t except it. I saw Mac fighing the Black boys. The Chief straight jumped in! I felt so pumped. They were sent to the disturbed.

I sat awake, knowing that Mac and Cheif were at the disturbed making a plan on how to excape. I need to figure out what they are up to. I could hear a fain sound of someone singing. I bet it was Mac, he was probably nervous. i remember when I had to go up there, it’s frightning. I have gone up there acouple of times. It’s something that you never want ot go to.
